Computer Science vs Computational Science

The US President’s Information Technology Advisory
Committee (PITAC).....

“[C]omputational science is now indispensable to
the solution of complex problems in every sector
[because] advances in computing and connectivity
make it possible to address problems previously
deemed intractable or beyond imagination.

The computational science referred to here is
the mother discipline to computational physics
(CP). As we view computational
science in Figure 2a, we see that this
multidisciplinary subject combines an application
(physics), applied mathematics, and CS(COMPUTER SCIENCE) in the
course of solving realistic scientific problems.
